How to Create a New Reality

Release then Recreate

Hi There,

This past Sunday 9 women joined me at a very sweet and cozy yoga studio in downtown Putney to practice releasing and recreating. We focused on identifying a thought or feeling that creates tension, fear, self-doubt, or scarcity and then wrote about it on a piece of paper. From there we moved into a yoga practice that focused on releasing, using a HA breath. Finally, we took the paper we wrote on earlier, tore it up and then used it to create an image or symbol that represents what we want to create in place of that negative thought or feeling.

Chaos was turned into acceptance

Fear into action

Overwhelm into self-compassion

Stuck into flow

Symbols included flowers, a home, people hugging, a torch and mountains.

It was really beautiful.

The purpose of this practice was to create space for another way of seeing and being in the world. And we can’t create that new reality until we first understand how we are thinking and feeling now, consciously create space from those thoughts and feelings and then give the brain a new path.

Giving the brain a new path looks like identifying a better feeling thought, putting it together with an image and then feeling into the expansiveness of that new possibility.

It’s a simple but profound practice.
